Karma and the Secret

Karma and the Secret are directly related concepts, interlinked in a obvious yet subtle way. The ancient Indian religion of Hinduism teaches us that karma is the result of cause and effect or as we in the west know it 'You reap what you sow'. So for example your cause is harm the effect is harm on your chosen subject, meaning the result or karma will be harm on you, maybe not right away but certainly at some point. This idea of a universal loop or universal justice can be traced to many different cultures from many different places.

In ancient Egypt the idea of karma is called maat, which roughly translates as manners. The idea was of good manners being working as a mirror back to yourself. In biblical terms it translate as 'Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap' from Galatians VI. It even permeates modern culture, for instance the television series 'My name is Earl' has its central theme based around the idea of redemption from bad karma, which if the rumours are true has it original basis in Scientology. The Matrix films also uses this idea with the speech made by the Merovigian about cause and effect, action and reaction.

So how does all this relate to the Secret? It's contained within the Secret in a very subtle way. The central concept in the Secret is that if you will good things, good things will come your way, eventually. This idea of a time lag is similar in theory to karma, in that bad karma as a result of a negative action doesn't necessarily come directly back to you. Another way in which it is contain in the Secret is in the idea of being kind to someone else elevates your position in the queue to your dreams and wishes, so again time is a factor in the Secrets interpretation of karma.

How does this all fit together, well in reality it’s very hard to keep up with the idea of helping everyone or being very kind all the time. This is especially true in the west, we all saw the film pay it forward and how difficult it was for people to accept help let alone give it. But there is way to achieve this higher echelon of thinking and that is by knowing all that you can know. The melding of the idea of karma into different cultures and religions is a great example of the mysterious things we don't quite understand, how was it that an idea found its way into so many different cultures that never even knew each other existed. So imagine if the answers to all these questions were answered in one book or document. With all of that knowledge we could break the chains of bondage that trap us daily and ascend to a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.

Enoch Tan has done just that. He has combined all of his knowledge from different cultures and religions into one book and subsequently discovered a higher, clearer understanding of us, our place in the world and our place in the universe. You can find out more here:

The Secret in Reality

Many things have been written regarding the secret, some are even written by the contributors of the original book. But many of them fail to engage their audience any more than the original book and when I say engage the audience I mean reveal any further revelations than the original. Many people read the secret and attempted to practice what was inside, which was great but like an unfinished film it doesn’t really work or even make sense. Imagine reading a detective story getting to a pivotal plot twist, turning the page and are greeted by nothing more than blank empty pages. I know for a fact that I would be pretty annoyed and you need only to trawl the internet to see how annoyed people are about the apparent unfinished nature of the secret.
The worst thing about this attitude is the fact that many now call the secret or law of attraction a scam or snake oil and believe me it’s not. Have you ever wondered how someone who is wealthy and suddenly loses all his money, business. His life flushed down the toilet in the blink of an eye can somehow still manage in a short time to regain most of his previous wealth. At first I always used to think that it was because they have wealthy contacts whom help them, but if you really think about it say your friend went out of business and wanted to borrow a substantial amount of money. Would you lend it? Because I know I would think twice before handing it over. So what is it about these people?
It seems to work on everything, for instance I bet everyone reading this has that friend who is good with the ladies or guys. I bet they are no better looking than you, don’t have more money than you and are at times quite obnoxious. So how do they do it? Whether they know it or not they are using the law of attraction to its maximum potential. How they maximise this potential is another thing.
Whereas the secret offered a stripped down, general version of the law of attraction other publications offer a fuller more involved version. The universal life secret offers this more fleshed out version covering how to attract women or men, wealth and much more. Not only does it offer the fleshy version, it also offers more concise instructions on how to utilise this amazing loophole in the contract of life. You can find out more here:

Thinking Successfully

Thinking successfully isn’t just a case of sitting on your toilet or whatever epiphany chamber you use and straining your mind to see yourself as successful. The Secret promised this and more, but if we are all honest with ourselves this would take a lot of effort to achieve. I’m not saying it wouldn’t work, but as I said requires quite a substantial effort as The Secret relies heavily on faith. There is no question that thoughts or ideas do have substance or can affect matter. On September the 11th 2001 the world watch as thousands of people were slain by an unforgivable act of violence, the interesting thing is that at the moment the second plane entered the second tower random number generators around the world stopped giving out random numbers. The collective feeling of grief actually affected the world in a physical way.
The Secret as a theory is fine but when combined with science becomes a king maker. What science can you combine with The Secret though? Well that’s easy if you think about it, the book utilises the human mind and its potential, so the most obvious science would be psychology. The study of the brain or mind has been the hot topic since Freud came up with his mother theory. How we view our own minds is important though and does take us back to The Secret. If you view your mind as an organ of restriction then we fail, whereas if we view it as what it truly is an organ of infinite possibilities then we are well on the road to understanding the mysteries of life.
If you have trouble grasping the idea of own mind being filled with infinite possibilities, as I did, try to remember that your mind or brain only ever uses about 50% at any one time and people like Einstein used about 60%. Does that change your perspective slightly? So imagine if someone gave the tools to unlock some more of your brain’s power. What could you do with that power, remember the phrase, ‘In the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king’. By unlocking more your brains potential you can be the one eyed man. If you still don’t believe me, try writing something. Go away and think for 30 minutes about a subject, let you mind wander and then pick something out and focus on it. Once you have done that get a pen and a piece of paper or a computer and write a 400 word article informing people about your chosen topic.
When you finished you have just done something I thought I could never ever do, write, yet here you are reading my article! There are a few packages on the internet offering to unlock that hidden potential in your brain, but Chris D’Cruz offers one of the best. You can find it here:

The Lost Wisdom

The lost wisdom is something that has been fought over by many generations, by many different nations and by many different religions. Consequential it has been pursued by many men who have usually discovered their own mortality or been driven mad before finding it.
If your not familiar with what this elusive and shadowy idea is then it is easily and briefly explained as the pinnacle of human achievement, thousand’s of years of knowledge and wisdom compounded into a simple and concise explanation. Explaining where we came from, where we are going, where our place is in the universe etc... You can look at it as a unifying religion encompassing ideas from all of the worlds religions into one, somewhat like Madame Blavatsky and her theosophical society.
This concept has even made it into modern culture through the book 'The Lost Symbol' by Dan Brown, with the main character chasing around Washington DC trying to discover the hidden wisdom. Going back even further to the adventurer Marco Polo, who after his return from the East and the Kublai Khan gave this quote on his deathbed, 'For I did not tell all I saw, as I feared I would not be believed'. So just what was it Marco Polo saw or discovered that he feared others wouldn't believe tale.
'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne alludes to this hidden wisdom, but does just that 'alludes'. It never really whole-heartedly gives it or releases it. There have been many publications since then that range from furthering the mystery in the book, to trying to uncover it fully. My own theory on the subject is that the secret knowledge is already known to us, locked away somewhere in our psyche waiting to be discovered.
EFT is fast becoming a natural tool to unlock this collective wisdom in us. Its kind of a dry acupuncture used to quell phobias, beat addictions and various other conditions. But its true treasure lies in the ability to unlock more and more of your own potential with its application. I wouldn't presume to tell you that this is the panacea you have been waiting for, but my own experience with EFT is that it can definitely aid you in any aspect of your life, career, love, money etc...

Does the Secret work?

Many people have come away from the secret feeling short changed or cheated. The main reason for this is that book whilst very good in outlining the bare bones basics of the concept, doesn't really go into that much detail. It leaves a lot of information out and ends up promising a lot but actually giving very little away. If you read the book though this is exactly what it promises not to do. Promising to make you the reader one of the small percentage of wealthy, loved and truly happy people in the world. Personally I don't think you need all those things to be happy, but they would certainly help!

I think though that the Secret does work, in fact I know it does. If it didn't I wouldn't have the confidence to be writing this now. The main problem is that the Secret doesn't just work on its own, it needs more than what is given. To say that focus and positivity is all that's needed is a false and slightly misguided statement. There are many different products on the internet that promise to help you in your search for the truth behind the book, but unfortunately some of these again are false and merely want to part you from your money.

So how can you find a good one? Well the best way to do this is to research the theory offered by the product if it has some basis in science then it is likely a good choice. For instance there is the psychological theory of EFT. EFT is the theory of tapping certain points on the body to achieve different and varying effects. It has roots in acupuncture, which western medicine is quickly recognizing as real science with real medical benefits. The tapping of the different is done by yourself for a few minutes a day.

The principle theory is that you can associate good things by tapping the positive parts and get rid of negative stuff by tapping the corresponding part. Whilst this on its own won't be an effective tool, but when use in conjunction the possibilities become endless. The theories in the Secret combined with this would be a very effective combination. Dr Joe Vitale and Brad Yates have already done the hard work for and combined the two systems together. Take a look at their theory here:

11 Laws of the Secret

If you have read the Secret then you probably know all about the law of attraction and how to attract all of the things you want from it. The book does a great job of promising things will come to you if you just have a little faith in yourself and retaining a positive outlook. If you keep smiling and focusing on the thing you want even when you are at your lowest point then it will come. Whilst this is perfectly correct in principle and is a part of the law of attraction, it is only a very basic outline. Similar to reading the synopsis on the back of a book and thinking that you have read the book.

The law stated in the Secret is just one law nothing more nothing less, but the true law of attraction is made up of many intricate and inter weaving laws. When they are put all together they make up the real and true law of attraction. Which is why so many people, myself included, walked away from the Secret with our hopes lifted and belief that our dreams could be realised. What we ended up with was half the story, which when we tried to implement didn't work turning us quickly into disbelievers.

One of the biggest grudges most have about the Secret is the vagueness in terms of time. According to the book you can focus on the same thing for many years without any joy, 'because the universe doesn't work on same time scale'. When you look at this concept objectively you end up with something like this, 'Okay, so I can have what I want if I keep smiling and focusing on it, but I might be ninety-nine when I get it?'. Sounds stupid and a bit unfair. But when you look at just the Secret and nothing else this is what you get.

Bob Proctor one of the main contributors to the Secret was some what annoyed at the final publications of the book and accompanying DVD, so he took matters into his own hands. He came up with the 'Forgotten Laws'. These act as a booster for the Secret, they delve more deeply into the ideas giving you a fuller more rounded picture of how to make your dreams become real. They also get rid of most of the vagueness surrounding time and teach you how to have some influence over the timing of your manifesting. You can find it here:

The Secret of The Secret

The Secret was a great publication using many different practitioners to emphasise the overall idea of the ‘Law of Attraction’. The idea of book is push the concept of manifesting your desire or bending the universe to your will. The gives you the idea, then gives you some science and finally brief set of tools for the job. It’s no surprise that because of the brief alluding to these tools that many excited and optimistic people walk away from the secret unhappy. They give it go but ultimately nothing changes and they end up giving up, believing it to be another crackpot, useless theory.

So how can we change that idea in people and truly get them to believe in the ‘Law of Attraction’ and all the life gifts that come with it? You can start by perhaps doing a little more research into the concept or the people who contributed to the book, but I think the very best way in this modern world is to ground the ideas in the book into hard, yet understandable scientific fact. To do this you need a scientist who understands the principles of the secret.

The kind of scientist I’m referring to comes from Einstein’s field, quantum physics. Even Einstein himself was a purveyor of the ‘Law of Attraction’. To quote Einstein himself, ‘Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one’. Think about this if reality is an illusion then we all have the power to bend it to our own will. Surely if one of the greatest minds in modern history said it, it must be true. The theory of quantum physics is one Einstein’s gift’s to the world, without getting into the complex nuances of the quantum theory it basically breaks everything down to a sub-atomic level, where the possibilities become endless.

Dr. Eric. Amidi is one such physicist, he was also disappointed by the lack of real explanation in The Secret. His disappointment came from his own knowledge on this subject through his science, he says that by combining the open ideas in the book with irrefutable science then you can truly master the ‘Law of Attraction’. Subliminal Attraction

What is subliminal attraction? You might well be forgiven for thinking not another of these silly products attached to that bloody book ‘The Secret’! And in some ways you would be right. The law of attraction teaches to consistently think positive things even when the odds are insurmountable against us. If we keep thinking these positive things then we have all we desire, in some cases even more than you originally desired.
The main issue people have with this idea is ‘How can I remain positive when everything I do never works or everything around me is collapsing’. It’s a fair point, but it is also the main reason this concept fails most people. They cannot comprehend the idea of staying positive when all seems lost. Which is why a lot of people go into the Secret with an open mind, but end up even more disheartened than before. This leads to people rubbishing the concept and exclaiming ‘how it doesn’t work’. When in fact it is our own thoughts that cause the problem.
Believe me when I say I thought the ideas in the Secret were nonsense as well but after some time of experimenting I can say that giving up to quickly is the biggest cause of failure. So what if you could use a secondary tool to aid you and what if that tool was grounded in hard science. You have probably heard of subliminal advertising or messaging, even if you didn’t know about it! The idea of subliminal messaging is that the message gets sent straight to the sub-conscious part of the brain. Say for instance that you were watching a commercial for a fast food restaurant and in the advert they supplant the idea of you buying a bunch of flowers, the flowers part of the message gets shoved back into the sub-conscious, but you will at some point go and buy some flowers.
There is no question that in the wrong hands this dangerous, which is probably why governments have funded millions into research in the past. What if you could utilise this science to give you the positive thoughts that are needed to extract the most out of the Secret. It seems like the perfect relationship. Well someone else thought so to and constructed a software system around this very idea. His name is Dino F. Ruales and you can find the programs here:

The money taps of life!

What are the money taps of life, I hear you cry. Are they little faucet's you switch on when your funds are running a little low. Are they the thing that banks use to transfer coins. No they are neither of these things, but what they are is something quite special.
The Secret gave us a general look at a system which promises wealth, love and general prosperity. What the taps offer is a more specific, in particular a system design to maximise your wealth. Each of these taps lasts about 3 seconds, with there being 9 taps that makes for around 217 combinations. To make this work though you will only need one! Just imagine a tap you can utilise for less than 30 seconds in total and exponentially increase you income. What a beautiful thought! Sound too good to be true right? As kooky as this sounds believe me it will have an effect on your life.
This isn't some random idea that someone is trying to sell to unsuspecting people as snake oil. Its based in solid fact and research. EFT is the technical term for it, emotional freedom technique. Its a relatively new concept in psychotherapy, you may have seen people using it on flights, they are the ones tapping their temples or tapping their fingers on the outside of their thumb. No they aren't mental, they are tapping their acupuncture points whilst focusing on their traumatic experience, thereby placating the experience.
It was first discovered in about 1993 by Gary Craig. It has many positive critics in the field of psychotherapy, so it is far from being snake oil. The way the tapping works for money is by tapping the points on the body that promote wealth. In acupuncture there is nine of these giving 217 combinations as I said earlier, but this by no means an easy thing to learn and takes an expert to show you the points and direct your thoughts. When you tap these points you are directly affecting the bodies energy field, which cannot be denied by even the staunchest sceptics as existing. If you get this wrong you could upset a keen balance. Which is why its best to seek advice on the subject first. There are many out there who will claim to know these points and know how to manipulating them, but be aware that misuse of this will possibly have negative effects. The best proponents of this practice are Dr. Joe Vitale and Brad Yates, they have created a system to help you achieve the maximum results from this technique. You can find it here:

How to move on from The Secret

With the amount of information available to most people on the internet nowadays, you would think that the paths to success are laid before you after clicking that search button on google. You could be forgiven for making a few errors on the results you choose to click on because as great as the internet is I don't think anyone would deny that there is a lot of crap out there in cyberspace. Whilst I love nothing more than to find one of these useless time wasting pages and laugh at it, there can be no doubt that many will see it and believe the hype. I would never attempt to associate myself with anything I didn't believe in or I think will work (even though there are many that will), I sometimes find myself drawn by something I wouldn't normally promote or endorse.
After reading the secret I like many were left feeling slightly empty and deflated by the lack of any real answers to my questions or any real direction as to how I can achieve my own individual and personal dreams and not someone else’s. It seems a fantastic concept to merely envision your desires and they will manifest and as I mentioned before seems deceptively simple. But many have been left without their dreams and desires. What has become clear after the explosion of the secret and the law of attraction is that many of the contributors have made it clear that it isn't as simple as what is described in the book. Bob Proctor is probably the most famous and has since offered his forgotten laws, extending the basics of the secret: Click Here!. Also he has written another E-book and E-course entitled 'The science of getting rich', as much as I would love to endorse this product I haven't tried it myself. I'll post a link to it as all of what Bob does is trustworthy and valuable: Click Here!.
Whilst Bob is a good source of knowledge there are a few others who are putting their expansions of this law. Some are rubbish and nothing more than scams designed to part you from your money, but some do have a certain something that stands out. One such product actually caught my eye because of something else I was researching, 'tulpa's'. These are what the Tibetans call thought beings, they are exactly what they sound like. I don't want to bore you with lesson on how they work, but this product uses a similar idea. The product is called 'Reality creation secrets'. Its main thrust is an idea hinted at in the secret but not really expanded on, the idea that reality is merely our own construct. Much like the Matrix movies this would indicate that if something is merely a construct then it can be manipulated. This is definitely worth checking out, even if its only for purely research purposes. Click Here!

The Secret and all the things in between

The secret has attracted hundreds if not thousands of loyal followers around the globe since its release. It has an almost hypnotic pull for people, drawing them in with the promise of a more fulfilled life. A life of true love, wealth and general happiness. The way in which it does this is with what the author describes as an age old secret, lost to a generation, but rediscovered and repackaged for the masses of the modern consumer. The method or titled secret is simple in concept, but complex to apply. The ‘law of attraction’ as it’s called is exactly as it appears, if you want something bad enough you will attract it to yourself, as I said very simple in concept. Yet extremely difficult to apply, if your mind wanders and becomes caught in negativity your prize will be lost. The simplest way to explain this would be to say if you have little money and would like some more, if you focus consistently on how much money you don’t have then you will never have the wealth you dream of. Whereas if you are constantly positive being grateful for what you do have then, but focusing on gaining more and the happiness it will bring you, then your dream will come.
This may all seem very simple and easy, but the margin for error is vast. So vast that most people get it wrong, constantly asking for the same thing. This will not achieve anything, ask once and maintain your beliefs and that will be enough. It would appear that the universe is a fickle entity, choosing at will when to give. Which brings about another important point, the time factor in all of this is the unknown quantity. When the universe chooses to give you your dreams and wishes is a matter it alone decides, some argue that conviction in the idea or dream is the guiding factor for timing, but I would tend to believe it not to be the case. The time factor is there so as you are ready to accept things when they arrive and make a hash of them.
The secret is not all hearsay and rumour though it is based in brazen scientific fact. The section of science that you would need to research is quantum physics. This understated and extremely complex section of science is still in its infancy, new theories and concept are created daily from this science, stringent scientists still don’t wholly believe it to be a real science. But don’t fooled by this lack of mainstream backing, the science began with the great Albert Einstein. His theory of relativity set the bench mark for quantum systems of thought. I would definitely recommend doing further research into quantum physics and Einstein’s theory, but the short and sweet concept discovered by Einstein is that we are all constructs of our own consciousness.
